It’s true. It looks like the Spirit of Ecstasy will be sitting atop an all electric Rolla sometime soon. According to CAR Magazine Online, Rolls-Royce CEO Tom Purves has his eye on a green ultra-lux machine for customers that only need to make quick jaunts into town to stock up on Grey Poupon. After driving the electric MINI, the CEO was won over by the quiet electric motor saying it was perfect for a large luxury barge/cruiser. While battery packs and electrons would likely serve up a more refined driving experience, can you really call it a Rolls without 6.75-liters out front? At least you won’t have to worry about the weight from the batteries weighing the car down, as the petrol-powered Phantom already tips the scales at 5,798 lbs. It’s a brave new world, Fiends.
