There’s a guy named Jason Calacanis and he founded Weblogs, Inc. AOL then bought his company and now he’s richer than the Kaiser. As such, he bought himself an orange Tesla Roadster! As with all Tesla owners, Mr. Calacanis is going to fall into one of two groups: planet saving greenies or hoons who crave supercar acceleration and Lotus-like handling in a $100,000 package. Turns out Calacanis is the latter, as he admits to both owning a C6 and considering a ZR1. Autoblog Sam got to drive the car around at full throttle (and this is one of the new-fangled Teslas with drivetrain 1.5) and had himself a ball. Check it, “While the interim drivetrain always had great performance at higher speeds, the off-line-performance was quick but not exceptional. Not any more. The Roadster now leaps off the line faster than almost anything else on the road.” Music to our ears. The real story is the color photography by none other than Drew Phillips. Not to let cats out of bags, but in about 24 hours Mr. Phillips is going to be photographically helping Autofiends out with a very special project. More special than a blinding orange electric car? Oh my yes. Until then, enjoy these. [Source: Autoblog Green]

More exciting and special? Really!?
It had better not be any of Brabus’ B.S. LED sound effects.
