Last Christmas, I was given a calendar featuring a new and unique concept car every month. This month? Jay Leno’s EcoJet. The car started out as an after-hours project for GM engineers, and with The General in the throws of bankruptcy it looks like those wrenches had some extra time on their hands. Based on Corvette architecture, the rig is powered by a Honeywell turbine engine that runs off of biodiesel and is supposedly good for 650 horsepower. It’s been almost two years since the 250 mph rig broke cover, but now that Jay’s out of his Tonight Show gig, he’s taken to showing up at local car shows in the EcoJet. Fiendish.
