mach i 540x351 Arizona Mans 69 Mach I: Stolen, Trashed

As Vincent Vega says, you just don’t fuck with another man’s automobile. Once upon a long time ago, Mike Gomez had a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach I with a Cobra Jet 4 Speed. He sold the car to buy his first house, and 30 years later picked up another ’69 with the intention of restoring it. The new ride turned out to be the kind of rust and bondo disaster only eBay can provide, and after pulling a second mortgage to do the resto himself, Gomez nearly had the car as cherry as could be. Then, one Sunday morning, he came in from working on the car at 5:30 a.m. to grab a cup of coffee and heard the 351 fire up. Someone was stealing his car. He ditched the coffee, ran out the door and dove in the passenger side window like any sane Fiend would do. The would-be thief repeatedly punched Gomez in the head until the owner lost his grip on his prize Pony and fell under the car, breaking his foot in the process. Unaccustomed to the nasty formula of V8 power and a light rear end, the thief lost control of the car and nosed it straight into a block wall. The Mach I would have been a total loss if the insurance company had chosen to cover the damage, which it didn’t. The thief’s in jail, but Gomez is out of money and his Mustang’s a disaster once again. If you’ve got a pile of Pony parts in the garage, we couldn’t think of a better use than sending them to Gomez. This story made my balls ache.

Prison is too good for some.

All that money down the drain. More importantly, all the hours of work he must have put in. That guy should have to pay not just for the damage, but for all the work he just erased. He’d be lucky not to get out of the slammer any time soon.

Thanks for all the support!! Mike and I really needed that as you can all imagine we are DEVASTATED! He is getting a little better on the crutches and has only 4-5 more weeks to go.
Lucky for us the Phoenix Police were on the ball, set up a perimeter so quickly that they did catch him. The Cops were pretty mad about what happened to us and our car too and they are holding him on 5 felonies – so he isn’t getting out anytime soon and you can bet we will be there for every court date!
THANKS AGAIN for all your supportive words.
    Sincerely,
    Sheri Gomez
